Journal #1 I Am The Messenger

In "I am the Messenger" Ed Kennedy is a young cab driver with nothing accomplished in life and has nothing that he wants to accomplish. He receives an ace of diamonds in the mail after being the hero of a local bank robbery. On the ace were three street addresses and three times. The ace helps him to accomplish something with his life.

As Ed is sitting on a porch across the street from one of the addresses, a big, drunk man comes stumbling down over the street. He enters the house that Ed has been assigned to watch. Ed describes his feelings that he felt as he was sitting on the porch. "My heart begins to suffocate me. It keeps rising until I can taste it." "The moon escapes from the clouds, and I suddenly feel naked. Like the world can see me. The street is numb and silent but for the giant man who's stumbled home and talks forcefully to his wife."

I can personally connect to Ed's situation. I have walked down a dark, empty street on a clear night. When I looked up into the sky I saw thousands of stars and a big, bright moon that gives both the dark street and me a hint of light. Being the only one on the street you feel like every one on earth is watching you but yet you cant see anyone. You feel as if you were glowing in the darkness, as if you were being followed, but you look behind you to find no one. The feeling of my heart beating, it feels like it is about to explode. In conclusion to how Ed felt on the dark street. I know how he felt from personally experiencing it.

Creative Pursuit: Five things

If my house was about to burn down, there is no way I would leave without taking anything with me. I would take the five most important things too me that I could carry. The first thing I would take is my family of course. I would make sure they were all out of the house and then I would go back and grab my cat and my dog because they are the next most important thing to me because they are like family. I would then take my tv and my xbox 360 because they are what I play for a living and without them I would have nothing to do. The fifth thing I would grab if there was still time is my lacrosse stick because I love to play with it when ever I am not busy playing on my xbox. But i hope that i dont have to worry about my house burning down. :)

Top Three

My top three favorite sports are lacrosse, hockey and golf. These are my favorite because I enjoy both playing and watching these sports. What i like about all these sports is that they are all competitive and fun.
Lacrosse would have to be my top sport by far. From the moment i first picked up a stick i new that i would love it and play it for a very long time. I started plaing when I was six and hope to keep playing for many years to come. the part i love most about the game is the roughness. But i also love the competitive aspect of it. Lacrosse is number one above hockey because i have played it for a long time and its not that i just like to play it but i have a passion for it.

Hockey is forsure one of my top three sports. Hockey is kind of the same as lacrosse. My dad played hockey all throiugh his childhood and loved it and still plays it. As any young kid that look up to there parents, we want to try what their parents are doing. And for the first sport I had tried I loved and I continued to love it for many years and liked playing it with my dad. I started to play organized hockey when i was five and loved every aspect of it. It was super fun, sociable and something that kept us occupied and away from drugs. Even though I have played hockey for another year then lacrosse and atteched to it, after many years i started to not enjoy it as much as lacrosse, and thats why Lacrosse is my number one.

Golf is the third sport that is in my top three favorite sports. I love to play golf as well. I find golf competitive when you make it that way but its very easy to go out with friends and just play for fun or sometimes juust go out by yourself and practice. I like that it doesnt have to be competive all the time and itsa a great sport to have to play when I take a break from all the competion from lacrosse and hockey. I love this sport and thats why it is in my top three but I have only just be playing for a few years which is why I think it is only my number three.

Super power

If i could choose any superpower it would have to be mimicricy. I would choose this because i would be able to mimic any other super heroes power which would give me access to all powers. I would be able to be super strong at the same time as super fast and super smart. It is the ultimate super power of all powers.
